CALL FOR ABSTRACTS
The International Society for Environmental Epidemiology North America Chapter (ISEE-NAC) announces a call for abstracts for our 2026 Regional Conference: traditional oral presentations (10-12 minutes), lightning talks (6 minutes), and poster presentations.
All abstracts (250 words/1500 character limit) will be published in a supplemental special issue of Environmental Epidemiology. Students, postdoctoral fellows, and early career researchers are especially encouraged to submit. Please contact Lizbeth Gomez with any questions.

CALL FOR ABSTRACT REVIEWERS
Abstract reviewers play a vital role in ensuring that the presentations meet the scientific and educational needs of 2026 ISEE NAC attendees, and we hope you will want to lend your expertise to the conference by volunteering for such a key position.
All abstract review processes will take place online between February 16 and March 16, and do not require an in-person meeting. Please contact Aisha Dickerson with any questions.

MEET THE KEYNOTE SPEAKERS*
Amira Aker
Amira Aker, PhD is an Assistant Professor in the School of Public Health at Boston University. She is an environmental epidemiologist who applies interdisciplinary research to identify risks associated with exposures to contaminants of emerging concern. Her work is largely focused on integrating complex statistical models and community-based research with Indigenous communities.
Jamaji C. Nwanaji-Enwerem
Jamaji C. Nwanaji-Enwerem, MD, PhD, MPP, is an Emergency Medicine Physician and a Presidential Assistant Professor at the University of Pennsylvania.
He graduated Phi Beta Kappa, Valedictorian from Morehouse College with a BS in Biology. He earned his PhD in the Harvard University Biological Sciences in Public Health program (Environmental Health concentration), his master’s in public policy (MPP) from Harvard Kennedy School, and his MD from Harvard Medical School. He completed his postdoctoral research fellowship in Environmental Health Sciences at UC Berkeley School of Public Health and his residency in emergency medicine at Emory University School of Medicine where he served as chief resident. Much of his work leverages molecular health biomarkers to improve our understanding of how chemical (i.e. toxins), physical, and social environmental exposures impact human aging and health. His work also emphasizes the need for public policy solutions. As an advocate of health for all, he collaborates with international organizations and governments to drive impactful health solutions. Dr. Nwanaji-Enwerem has served as a member of the White House Environmental Justice Advisory Council, the White House Office of Public Engagement Roundtables on Clinical Innovation and Health Equity, and the World Health Organization technical advisory group for the occupational burden of disease estimation.
Huaqing Wang
Huaqing Wang, PhD, PLA, AICP, is an Assistant Professor of Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning at Utah State University. She is a licensed landscape architect and an AICP-certified planner whose work bridges environmental epidemiology, urban planning, and landscape design. Her research explores how the spatial morphology of urban greenspaces affects population health, using observational and experimental studies, spatial analysis, machine learning, and causal inference. Her work focuses on outcomes such as non-communicable diseases, birth outcomes, mental health, and heat-related health risks, and has appeared in leading journals such as The Lancet Planetary Health, Environmental Health Perspectives, and Landscape and Urban Planning.
